Like a Box of Chocolates

After my encounter with the Almighty almost 19 years ago now, I went on a quest for knowledge. About two years into my research I came across the Nag Hamadi library. These Gnostic manuscripts were found in the Egyptian desert. Untouched since the time of Jesus, these documents finally were unearthed from the sands of time in 1945.

I was astounded when I came to a part of the collection entitled the Book of Thomas the Contender. Thomas quotes Jesus: "For the body is a domestic animal. Therefore, you must go about perfecting yourself ". At last, I had found someone else in history who clearly knew about the beast within; and, that someone was Jesus.

Beginning December 1st I am going to act like an Advent calendar. But instead of chocolate surprises on a daily basis, I will be serving up food for thought on each of the 24 days leading up to Christmas. Rest assured though, my daily meditations/posts won't be dishing out that old time religion or tales of flying reindeer. It is time we had a second look at Jesus Christ through the lens of evolution. The way things are going it is looking more and more like our species' survival depends on it.

Not Even This Anti-Christ

My sympathy goes out to the French people, and to all the others in the Middle East and Africa who have lost loved ones and have been traumatized by terrorism.What dark times we live in.  If only IS and the other psychopaths wrecking havoc on humanity could see themselves as they truly are.

These human primates have not a clue about the bestial imperatives driving them. They can't see their own defenses and delusion at work in their thinking; so, for them it is not even an issue. There can be no reasoning with them because they can't see a problem with their thinking.

Take heart though, these hangers on from a bygone era will soon be eradicated. After all, humanity is meant to ascend the evolutionary ladder. And, not even this anti-Christ is more powerful than the Creator.

Rastaman, Will I Make You A Fisher of Men?

The other day I posted, on a Bob Marley site, a link to my blog post "A Mystical Meeting". I was surprised at the resulting analytics; people from across the globe were on to it. In that post I offer an up to date justification for the Rastafarian's reverence for Haille Selassie.

Inspired by my trip to Jamaica, I blogged about the presentation I had produced there for some Rastas. These particular Rastafarians view Selassie as God just like some Christians do with Jesus. Yet, didn't both these "Gods" directly deny any claim to a divine status? I didn't push the point that day but instead, looking for common ground, I penned the poem found below.

Rastaman, Will I Make You a Fisher of Men?

Now that you know which way will you go?

Now that you have had a sip of the living water,

don't tell me that Jesus does not matter.

Your King of kings knew him too,

that Christ, liberator of me and you.

Ras Tafari, like Jesus, had utopia as the mission,

the evolution of human consciousness, that God-inspired vision. 

Both Jesus and Selassie, graced with the hatching
 of a Christ-mind came to emancipate.

Now then, are you going to cooperate?
